Richard Davies wrote: The UK has a good crop of technology pioneers in cloud computing - for example ElasticHosts, FlexiScale, Flexiant, OnApp - and also some strong government initiatives such as G-Cloud. We will have to see whether this kind of technical leadership converts into swift mass-market adoption or not.

FatWire Content Server Keeps Rail Europe on Track for Success
Scalable Web Content Management Solution Delivers Engaging, Multilingual Content to Drive Brand

Mineola, NY – July 7, 2009 - FatWire Software today announced that Rail Europe, the largest distributor of European rail products in North America,  launched its new website (www.raileurope.com) using the FatWire Content Server web content management (WCM) solution. As a core component of FatWire’s industry-leading Web Experience Management (WEM) portfolio, Content Server will help increase sales by delivering compelling, multilingual content to Rail Europe site visitors.

Each year more than one million American travelers purchase European rail products through Rail Europe Inc. or one of their more than 400 travel partners. The company needed a solution that enabled them to add dynamic delivery capabilities and richer online content in order to attract and convert English-, French- and Spanish-speaking website visitors to customers. They also needed to change web content on the fly during peak travel times, so they sought a solution that scaled to meet the demands of users and provided an opportunity to increase brand identity.

Rail Europe Inc. launched its new website with FatWire Content Server to gain a competitive advantage and achieve these goals. The FatWire portfolio automates the entire WEM process, including content authoring, site design, content publishing and delivery, targeted marketing, site analytics and user participation.  Using FatWire Content Server’s simple user interface, Rail Europe can now establish and manage targeted online campaigns and keep their web content relevant and current, while maintaining brand integrity.

“Over 60% of our customers interact with us through the web, so we needed a web content management solution that gave us the ability to constantly refresh information to encourage repeat online visits and referrals,” states Irfan Sabir, Rail Europe Inc.’s CIO. “FatWire Content Server’s powerful capabilities help us do this by delivering content in the right language and enabling our staff to adjust web content as seasonal demands and market conditions change.”

“Travelers are discerning customers who rely on compelling sites like RailEurope.com to search out the best deals,” said Ken Delaney, FatWire Software’s senior vice president of sales for North America. “FatWire’s solutions help customers to increase organizational efficiencies by enabling them to update sites quickly with the best and latest offers, thereby delivering a compelling web experience for the end user which encourages visitors to come back again and again.”
