Compuware Summit Addresses J2EE and OptimalJ Same Week As JavaOne
Several Sessions Focused on Java-based Technology

The 2005 Compuware Partner Summit, to be held June 28-30 at the company's new global headquarters in downtown Detroit, will include several sessions focused on J2EE and OptimalJ session.

One session provides an overview of Compuware’s OptimalJ development suite, for example, including its solutions for code-centric and Model Driven Architecture-based application development and maintenance. The session will have a focus on total cost of ownership (TCo), and attendees can expect to learn how OptimalJ can reduce development by 40% and maintenance by 50%.

Other highlighted sessions at this event include:

-- Demystify MDA and Unlock A Competitive Advantage With J2EE Development. Attendees can expect to get a first-hand view of how introducing OptimalJ into J2EE development activities allows improved margins and customer satisfaction. Learning how to demystify MDA (Model Driven Architecture) development and how OptimalJ has harnessed models and transformations to allow development organizations to build applications faster and with an unprecedented level of flexibility is a key focus of this session.

-- Delivering Legacy Application Modernization Through SOA and MDA . Legacy application modernization is a key initiative for many IT organizations. While the potential returns from these initiatives can be tremendous, there is also tremendous risk in the multitude of approaches available to achieve this modernization. Attendees at this session can expect to learn how OptimalJ, along with Compuware’s strategic partner, Software AG, provides a comprehensive platform for non-invasive modernization, allowing organizations to “migrate while they operate.”

This session focuses on how Locus Systems abd Scisys adopted OptimalJ on multiple development projects to achieve competitive advantage in the market. OptimalJ can reduce development time by 40%, resulting in reduced development costs and risks, Compuware says. Compuware partners are leveraging OptimalJ and MDA development techniques to win in competitive situations and surpass their clients’ expectations.
 
-- Building Service-Oriented Applications on a Proven Platform. This session discusses the benefits of building applications in Uniface’s Application Platform Suite. Uniface APS offers a robust platform enables the development of new, platform-independent applications faster and cheaper. Rapid customization allows easy application reuse and maintenance.
