EC Schedules Hearing on Google
Google’s proposed $125 million US settlement on its out-of-print book-scanning project

The European Commission has invited European publishers, authors and copyright holders to a hearing September 7 on Google’s proposed $125 million US settlement on its out-of-print book-scanning project. It seems that copyright can’t traced for 90% of the books in Europe’s national libraries. The Justice Department is already thinking about taking legal action.
