Xythos Software attended the JavaOne Conference in San Francisco, spoke with SYS-CON.TV, following up on its recent announcement that Oracle has licensed the Xythos Drive to enhance integration between the
Windows desktop and Oracle server products.
"After an exhaustive search, we are pleased to have selected the Xythos Drive," said
Rich Buchheim, senior director of product management, Oracle Collaboration Suite. "This
technology will enable Oracle to better link the Windows desktop to Oracle’s two strategic
products - Oracle Files 10g and Oracle Portal."
Presenting the capabilities of collaborative content management and enterprise portals
through both a browser and the Windows desktop will increase employee productivity.
"Today’s distributed organizations require content management solutions that address the
needs of all users, including mobile ones," commented Gary Zuckerman, vice president of
business development at Xythos. "The Xythos Drive was designed to help make this process
easier for all participants."
Xythos technology is quickly becoming the standard of choice for software developers
who want to offer integrated desktop access to their enterprise applications, the company says. The Xythos
Drive provides folder-level access and management control to simplify how users interact
with application content, even when they are not connected to the Internet. In addition,
Xythos technology allows developers to make content management and collaboration instantly
familiar, helping everyday users easily access the full power of today’s new web-enabled
applications.
