Progress DataDirect, the data infrastructure division of Progress Software Corporation (NASDAQ: PRGS) and provider of premium, vendor-independent, data access and integration technologies for any data source, platform or operating environment, today announced the Data Integration Summer School program. The free, self-paced, online classroom experience offers software architects powerful resources to design strategic and tactical integration applications and provides a jump start for developers using the Progress® DataDirect® Data Integration Suite within the enterprise. The Progress DataDirect Data Integration Suite is a comprehensive solution that provides design and runtime capabilities for standards-based data integration in traditional and SOA environments. The robust product architecture combines DataDirect Stylus Studio® XML Enterprise Suite, DataDirect XQuery® and DataDirect XML Converters® to integrate data from heterogeneous data sources and myriad data formats. "As business grows and business needs evolve, connecting systems and users to a variety of disparate data sources can be labor-intensive and drain precious IT resources," said Dr. Carlo Innocenti, senior data integration program manager for Progress DataDirect. "The Data Integration Summer School program was designed to illustrate how common data integration challenges can be overcome. The coursework walks participants through the easy-to-use tools and scalable data processing components available to effectively consume and update the full spectrum of enterprise data sources using standards-based technologies and interfaces." The classes provide relevant whitepapers, video tutorials, real-world examples, case studies and Webinars to deliver useful information that can be put into practice immediately. Program participants are encouraged to work through the curriculum in chronological order, but are free to go from class-to-class to better meet their individual learning style.
