Moving up the stack to PaaS and SaaS the use of virtualisation may, as you say, be less required if you put lots of smarts into your software. A lot of software does not have those smarts and by utalising virtualisation of the layers below can manipulate existing software architectures to have more cloudy attributes through automation (eg run load balancers and deploy more servers automagically). Over time, as new investment in software at...

Parasoft Jtest 7.0 Exposes Functionality Problems with Automatically-Generated Unit Tests for Java Software
Breakthrough Test Case Sniffer is First to Make Realistic Unit Testing Practical

Parasoft Corporation, leading provider of automated error prevention solutions has announced the availability of a new release of Parasoft Jtest. Jtest 7.0 introduces Test Case Sniffer, the first technology that makes realistic functional unit testing fast and easy for development and QA organizations.

Test Case Sniffer monitors a running application and automatically generates unit test cases that capture application behavior. Simply exercise the application functionality you want to test, and Test Case Sniffer automatically generates JUnit test cases with real data that represents the paths taken through the application. The result is a library of test cases against which new code can be tested to ensure it meets specifications and does not "break" existing functionality.

Mark Johnson, Parasoft Vice President of Sales and Marketing said, "Most organizations recognize the value of unit testing, but they don't have the practical means to deploy it. Using Test Case Sniffer, development and QA organizations gain a fast and easy way to generate functional unit test cases that verify whether code satisfies the required application behavior." He also said, "Jtest helps teams meet increasingly aggressive release schedules without compromising quality, reliability and security."

By automating traditionally difficult, tedious and time-consuming tasks, Jtest helps Java development teams who lack the time, skill or resources to develop unit test cases. In use by organizations such as Cisco, Disney, AXA Financial, Lehman Brothers, IBM and Boeing, Jtest has been proven to improve software quality and shorten the software development cycle while reducing software development costs.

First released in 1997, Jtest has delivered a succession of breakthrough technology innovations in automated software test and analysis for Java development. The first product to provide developers with automated unit testing, Jtest reads and analyzes Java code and creates harnesses, stubs and test inputs to test the code without user intervention. This allows development teams to identify, diagnose and correct problems as part of the daily development process. Jtest is the first and only unit-testing product to create test cases in JUnit format, the standard framework for Java unit testing. In 1998, Jtest integrated automated coding standards analysis and now provides over 500 built-in Java development rules, many with a Quick Fix option; these rules allow quick and easy identification and resolution of poor code construction that impacts application reliability, security and performance.

With extended team support such as centralized administration and application of rule and test configurations, SCM and build process integration, extensive role-specific reporting, metrics and analytics, Jtest has evolved into a complete solution for Java development organizations, improving code quality throughout the software development lifecycle and increasing productivity across the entire development team.

Parasoft is the leading provider of innovative solutions that automatically identify and prevent software errors from reoccurring in the development and QA process. Developed with Automated Software Error Prevention (AEP) methodologies, its award-winning, patented solutions enable software development organizations to reduce delivery delays and improve the quality, security and predictability of enterprise applications. Parasoft has more than 10,000 clients worldwide, including Bank of America, Boeing, Cisco, Disney, HP, IBM, Lehman Brothers and SBC. Founded in 1987, Parasoft is headquartered in Monrovia, CA. the official website of Parasoft is http://www.parasoft.com.

I have been trying to test the functionality of our blog, but I have not been too successful in finding out the crux of the problem, I imagine there are a few blogs out there that might be experiencing the same situation.
