illustro has acquired the intellectual property and assumed the technical support and maintenance responsibilities for all customers using the product formerly marketed by Neon Systems as Shadow VM Web Server.
The acquired products include a Web Server for customers using the z/VM or VM/ESA operating systems, and a Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) product used in conjunction with the Web Server to provide a secure Web connection for users.
The products have been updated and enhanced with new features by illustro and are currently available as new solutions within the Company’s z/Ware line of Internet-enabling software for mainframes, as z/Web-Server for VM and z/Web-Server Secure Feature.
“The acquisition of this technology from NEON Systems is an integral part of our efforts to continue to enhance our Internet-enabling offerings for mainframe users,” said Eric L. Vaughan, illustro’s president and CEO. “But we are most excited about the customer relationships we are assuming as part of the transaction, including some large and well-known financial, educational and governmental institutions. We welcome the opportunity to demonstrate illustro’s outstanding support and commitment to software excellence to these industry leaders.”
