Nationally Renowned Speaker on Telehealth Comes to Columbus
Oct. 22, 2009 02:30 PM
Dr. Max Stachura, Director for Telehealth, Eminent Scholar in Telemedicine, and Professor of Medicine & Physiology at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, will be the keynote speaker at a special gathering on Friday, October 16th, at the Dublin Methodist Hospital in Columbus. Dr. Stachura will be discussing trends in modern health care designed to extend the reach of care to individuals challenged by geography and physical disabilities. His primary focus will be on telemedicine, the transfer of medical information by means of the telephone or Internet and telehealth, the delivery of health-related services and information via telecommunications technologies. (Telehealth is an expansion of telemedicine in that it encompasses preventive, promotive and curative aspects.) The ever-increasing ability to monitor patient status from a remote location allows for timely and cost-efficient health care, as well as improved patient outcomes. The event is sponsored by Future Path Medical. In addition to the speaker, the company will be demonstrating an innovative new medical device in clinical fluid management that can be used in homes, hospitals, and acute care facilities. The meeting starts promptly at 3:00 p.m. and is open to the public by a pre-registration and NDA. For more information, please RSVP by contacting Ty Bryant at (614) 863-5651 or ty@future-path.net
