Unlike Chrome, litlOS is focused on creating a new and better web experience for the home, so we don't have the usual browser interface, we have our own innovative UI. In conjunction with easel mode (litl's inverted-V position) and our growing cohort of litl channels (special apps t...

Are Mobile Luddites Resisting Mobility?
Come into the Light of the Mobile Age or BE DOOMED!

This week I had my attention drawn by a few interesting articles that seem to suggest that, the increase into Enterprise Mobility has not occured yet.

I am stating... 'Come into the Light of the Mobile Age or BE DOOMED!', that is my call to the Mobile Luddites.

I must admit, I like that term Luddites as used by Eric Lai at ComputerWorld whilst he sites the Forrester Research study in his article here. Along with Pat Thibodeau's article here it makes really sad reading that...

  • e-mail and the telephone remain the primary means of business communication
  • Only about 10% of the workers said they use videoconferencing technology at work
  • Only 15% reported using social networks at work

However, that being said, the report also showed that...

  • 30%, said they work in teams where members are in different locations, and nearly 11% said they regularly work with employees of other firms.

So I find myself sitting here contemplating why some companies may have not embraced Enterprise Mobility.

I ask myself...

  • Is there issues with the technology itself?

I very much doubt this... as I have seen many companies use Mobility to create & expand advantages over their customers and streamline processes, increasing staff & customer satisfaction

  • Is it the Economy?

As I stated in one of my resent articles here

  • Is it because companies are refusing to embrace younger Mobile technologies including smartphones?

I hope not, as there are competitive advantages to be had, see here

  • Is it because they do not know the oppertunities?

Check out my article on October 16 here

  • Is it because companies are priming themselves for this big shift or worried about the risks?

Remember... you snooze, you lose. Check out my article on October 20 here

  • Is it that companies do not know the steps for success?

Check out my article on October 23 here

  • Is it that companies do not know the skill set that their developers need for Enterprise Mobility?

Check out my article on October 27 here

  • Is it that companies are worried about these new mobile corporate assets?

Check out my article on October 30 here

Come on Mobile Luddites of this world...move into the light of Enterprise Mobility and bask in the advantages it gives
