Iron Mountain said Monday that it's bought archiving house Mimosa Systems for $112 million in cash. Mimosa's NearPoint platform gives Iron Mountain on-premise archiving of Exchange e-mail, SharePoint data and unstructured files to go with its own cloud-based archiving not to mention its widgetry for archiving e-mail the way the SEC likes. Which is why it figures it's now a one-stop shop, capturing everything from the PCs and laptops at the edge to company repositories like e-mail stores, SharePoint servers and file system. Register Today and Save $550 ! Mimosa gives Iron Mountain a product to pitch to enterprises that are still cloud-shy and want to keep their data grounded at home. The purchase also brings it Mimosa's thousand clients who use its stuff for retention and disposition, eDiscovery, compliance supervision, classification, recovery and search. Iron Mountain means to keep Mimosa staff and make its CEO TM Ravi chief marketing officer of Iron Mountain Digital, its information management arm. Mimosa's backers include Clearstone Venture Partners, JAFCO Ventures, the Mayfield Fund and August Capital. Figure about $57 million plus some debt funding. SOA World Latest Stories
