Reportedly unable to just buy Twitter last summer, Google is going Twitteresque.
According the Wall Street Journal, Gmail will be adding a self-affirming babble, "I tweet therefore I am" capability in the style of Facebook and Twitter to its skills so users can share media and status updates with a connected circle of their friends.
More ambitious than the existing Gmail chat bar, the social networking widgetry may debut this week, the paper said.
Supposedly Google means to integrate shared content through its YouTube video-sharing and Picasa photo-sharing services into the stream of status updates at some point.
