In many cases, the end of the year gives you time to step back and take stock of the last 12 months. This is when many of us take a hard look at what worked and what did not, complete performance reviews, and formulate plans for the coming year. For me, it is all of those things plus a time when I u...

Internet Radio: With Tens of Millions of Devices Distributed Worldwide, AUPEO! is Leading the Field in Hardware Integration

BERLIN, February 11 /PRNewswire/ --

- Reputable Manufacturers Like Loewe and ASUS Profit From the International Standard for Hardware-Based Audio Streaming

- Numerous new Cooperations in 2010 Will Win an Edge Over the Competition

- A BITKOM (Federal Association for Information Technology, Telecommunications and New Media in Germany) Study Confirms a Trend Towards a "Device-Agnostic Internet"

AUPEO!, the leading provider of hardware-based audio streaming, begins the new year with new manufacturer collaborations and continues to expand its market-leading position in hardware integration. The audio products from the Berlin-based company currently come pre-installed in tens of millions of devices such as Loewe flat-screen TVs and ASUS netbooks in more than 25 countries.

In contrast to other online providers, AUPEO! has designed its radio streams for hardware integration from the beginning, and developed an internationally usable standard. "We have proudly chosen AUPEO! for the music service integration on ASUS@Vibe. AUPEO! not only stands for a high-quality and multifaceted radio experience, but its capability to provide ASUS customers a great music selection around the globe is a definite plus to our notebooks and Eee PC! We are pleased and very excited to offer our customers this exclusive feature in our devices," says Vira Chang, CEO Special Assistant, who is in charge of the ASUS@Vibe content service, of ASUS, the market leader for computers, communication and consumer electronics.

The use of online services on devices other than the personal computer will gain importance, according to a new study by the industry association BITKOM 2010. Therefore, development will provide a greater variety of Internet-capable mobile devices. "The new trend is called device-agnostic Internet," explains Armin G. Schmidt, the founder and managing director of AUPEO!. "Many online companies are trying to enter the market for hardware integration. Regional content and inadequate compatibility prove to be big problems for most. We removed these hurdles from the outset and have already worked successfully with numerous international manufacturers for two years."

AUPEO! is slated to announce other notable hardware collaborations in the coming weeks.

About AUPEO!: AUPEO!, founded in 2008, provides music lovers with high-quality radio stations for every taste and mood. With AUPEO! - not only online at http://www.aupeo.com, but also pre-installed in numerous netbooks, connected TVs, in nearly all web radio devices and many smartphones - users can enjoy editorially overseen artist and genre stations, compile their personal favorite programs and discover new tracks. In cooperation with the Fraunhofer Institute for Digital Media Technology, AUPEO! gives users access to stations tailored to individual moods. In addition to the free basic program, the radio provider offers exclusive premium access for EUR4.95/month.
