"Visual Rules 3.1" Eclipse Plug-In Is A Handy Tool
The business rules engine 'visual rules' is a tool for the graphical modeling of business logic

The business rules engine "visual rules"  is a tool for the graphical modeling of business logic, and is fully integrated into Eclipse. Its new release 3.1 (for Java) is available now. The Eclipse plug-in "visual rules" is a handy tool for the graphical modeling of business logic. It supports the developer with extensible modelling elements, the possibility to write own functions and actions, auto tests (similar to JUnit Tests), graphical display of test results and many others features.

"visual rules" automatically generates Cobol code that can be used in mainframes as well as executable Java programming code in order to be integrated into rule-based applications. The business rules can as well be executed ad-hoc within "visual rules", there is no need of writing an extra application.

Version 3.1 (for Java) has the following new features.
  • New hot deployment API
  • New comfortable test data editor
  • New visual debugger
  • Support of Eclipse 3.1 and 3.0
  • Full support of collections and Hibernate objects
  • New action for output of data
  • New database connectivity actions for DDL commands and the call of stored procedures and functions
