It's supposed to be out this year and rolled into paid editions of Salesforce CRM and Force.com

Salesforce Session at Cloud Expo Salesforce.com has started privately beta testing its newfangled Chatter widgetry, the socially tuned real-time enterprise widgetry that's supposed to accelerate the end of pricey and complex legacy apps like SharePoint and Lotus Notes. Although 67,000 customers reportedly volunteered, Salesforce has got a hundred companies including Reed Exhibitions, the Schumacher Group and TransUnion piloting the stuff and accessing feeds via BlackBerry and iPhone, an unexpected feature.
Chatter is supposed to be out this year and rolled into paid editions of Salesforce CRM and Force.com. A $50 per user per month Chatter Edition is also expected and will include Salesforce Content and Force.com. There should be a free version too. Supposedly secure, Chatter includes profiles, status updates, news feeds, application updates, document sharing and integrates with Facebook, Twitter and Google Apps. Reader Feedback: Page 1 of 1
