Oracle Database 10g Release 2 Available on Windows
Company Showcases Microsoft Windows and .NET Platform Integration

Oracle announced the general availability of Oracle Database 10g Release 2 on the Microsoft Windows platform. Now Windows customers can benefit from the many grid computing, performance, scalability, and security enhancements to Oracle Database 10g Release 2.
With the availability of Oracle Database 10g Release 2 on Windows, Oracle extends its commitment to provide Windows users with a higher quality of service, while reducing the cost and complexity of data management., Oracle says. Specifically, Oracle Database 10g Release 2 incorporates new features for Windows developers including Oracle Database Extensions for .NET -- offering .NET stored procedures for database developers. This feature enables developers to use the .NET language they are most familiar with, reducing the time it takes to build and deploy Oracle Database applications.
"For two decades, Oracle has met the needs of Windows customers by continually optimizing its products for Windows," said Andy Mendelsohn, senior vice president of Database Server Technologies, Oracle. "Oracle Database 10g Release 2, with its enhanced grid computing, security and self-management capabilities, delivers the highest scalability, fault tolerance and security at the lowest cost."
