In many cases, the end of the year gives you time to step back and take stock of the last 12 months. This is when many of us take a hard look at what worked and what did not, complete performance reviews, and formulate plans for the coming year. For me, it is all of those things plus a time when I u...

CareerBoard.com Launches Local Job Boards in 35 US Cities

CLEVELAND, OH -- (Marketwire) -- 02/23/10 -- CareerBoard.com announced the addition of 35 locally focused job boards to its existing 12 board network.

Employers and job seekers in 47 major US cities now have an online resource to connect with one another. New Job boards launched earlier this week include major markets across the USA like Chicago.CareerBoard.com, NewYork.CareerBoard.com, SanFrancisco.CareerBoard.com, WashingtonDC.CareerBoard.com, Virginia.CareerBoard.com, Newark.CareerBoard.com and LosAngeles.CareerBoard.com

Peter Tuttle, President of CareerBoard.com, commented, "We have been providing a quality service to the Midwest market for nearly 12 years now and have found our offering of 'Local Jobs, Local Talent' meets the needs of both employers and job seekers. Most employers will fill their openings with people who live in their area and similarly, the majority of job seekers look for work close to where they live."

CareerBoard differentiates itself by offering cost effective alternatives to traditional 30-day advertisements including 7-day job postings and a Pay for Performance pricing option.

The 7-day job posting was developed in response to the results of a study that concluded 70% of applications occurred with the first week of a position being posted. "We give employers the flexibility to control their costs by advertising for a shorter period of time without significantly reducing candidate response," according to Tuttle.

CareerBoard's Pay for Performance (P4P) product enables employers to advertise their opening for free and only pay for qualified applications. Employers build a "qualified candidate profile" though a series of filtering questions and their cost per applicant is calculated from the number and depth of the filtering questions selected and the hiring salary.

"While the majority of hires will come from the local market we also understand the occasional need to recruit outside of the area. It was important for us to develop a system in which employers can post their jobs locally, regionally or nationally and manage their talent from one centralized area," explains Tuttle.

CareerBoard will continue its nationwide expansion with plans to launch additional local employment sites by the end of 2010. "While the US job market has yet to demonstrate consistent growth, we are very confident in the long term and have faith the US economy will rebound, igniting the US local market job engine," Tuttle concluded.
