Through PortletSwap, Fricke explained, JBoss community members can contribute and share a growing number of pre-configured portlets – reusable Web components that display relevant information, such as enterprise application data and access, e-mail, and news. In support of this initiative, JBoss is also announcing the First Annual PortletSwap Meet, a competition running through October 25, 2005 to find the most creative and distinguished portlet designs. "Portal technology remains one of the most expensive areas of middleware today. As JBoss has successfully done with the application server, we are now bringing this high-end technology to the mass market at a zero-cost software license so that any enterprise can make portals a part of their business," said Fricke. Further information about the competition to win a PlayStation 2 Portable in the First Annual PortletSwap Meet, is available from http://www.portletswap.com.
