Technalign has announced the release of Business Desktop Beta 1. As part of the release of Business Desktop Beta 1, Technalign has established projects open to the business community. Those business community projects include Desktop, Enterprise Server and a closed source business management solution codenamed FusionPane Matrix.
The first FusionPane project will allow companies to manage their TaFusion MEPIS Linux Business Desktops via a console through their Enterprise Server. Functionality will include pushing desktop operating systems and updates on a schedule defined by the administrator.
Companies involved in the Business Desktop Beta will have input on how the console is human engineered as well the standards defined in the operation of the management tools. These new standards are identified as Fusion Standards and will be implemented on all TaFusion MEPIS business products.
Dianne Ursini, CEO of Technalign, stated, "The closed source business solution allows companies to provide input on every aspect of the business platforms. Companies have an opportunity to participate on the desktop and enterprise server right through to the management console. The FusionPane project is the first business community project that takes into account small to large enterprises."
The Beta program includes companies from five to tens of thousands of workstations. Companies have viewed the project with positive responses thus far in anticipation of the first Beta release of the desktop. Technalign's Solution Providers are not only providing standards assistance but also bringing companies to the project. The companies are directly involved in how desktops are centrally managed and updated.
Warren Woodford, CEO of MEPIS, LLC stated, "The Fusion Standards will take the Simply concept to the next level. Fusion Standards will allow companies to manage simply -- from workgroups to enterprises -- with a set of FusionPane consoles."
Membership of all companies within the business community is via Technalign's Partners and Solution Providers. Solution Providers will work with prospective companies within the business community. Partners also include resellers as well as retailers, but are limited to bringing in companies under 100 workstations. Companies over 100 workstations must go through a Technalign Silver, Gold or Platinum Solution Provider.
