Industry News Satyam Wins WHO Award in Europe, Announces Big Plans Down Under
Multi-Million Dollar Marks One of the Largest Wins in Europe for Satyam

Satyam Computer Services Limited, a leading global consulting and IT services provider, announced that the World Health Organization (WHO) has chosen to work with Satyam to implement its critical Global Management System. Satyam will spearhead the operational overhaul for WHO, after an elaborate RFP and evaluation process that has involved some of the industries biggest players. WHO embarked on a program to substantially improve its operational efficiency in the effectiveness and outcomes of the programs and projects that it implements and in the interaction with the external donor community and with other agencies. It also wants to improve the integration of the operations of the country offices, regional offices and headquarters. To this end, Satyam has been chosen to implement a global roll-out, of an Oracle-based ERP system that includes full functionality and end-to-end processes, throughout WHO, including its regional offices and in over 140 country offices. Meanwhile, After building its largest development centre outside India and investing over four million dollars in infrastructure to build a 35% local workforce, Satyam is now in discussions with the top government officials and industry delegates from Australia. Senator Helen Coonan, Minister for Communications, Information Technology and the Arts accompanied by Shaun Anthony, Advisor to the minister and a group of high-profile Australian delegates met the Founder & Chairman Mr. Ramalinga Raju in the Satyam Development Center in Bangalore.
