Richard Davies wrote: The UK has a good crop of technology pioneers in cloud computing - for example ElasticHosts, FlexiScale, Flexiant, OnApp - and also some strong government initiatives such as G-Cloud. We will have to see whether this kind of technical leadership converts into swift mass-market adoption or not.

In many cases, the end of the year gives you time to step back and take stock of the last 12 months. This is when many of us take a hard look at what worked and what did not, complete performance reviews, and formulate plans for the coming year. For me, it is all of those things plus a time when I u...

Spoono Host Offers Reseller Web Hosting
"Losing Data Is Simply Not A Possibility For Spoono Host Clients," Says Spoono's Akash Goel

Spoono, a design portal, has introduced reseller hosting capabilities to its line of web hosting offerings. The feature-rich, yet very affordable, reseller plan provides customers with everything necessary to function as an independent web host, according to the company.

The reseller plan includes 5 Gigabytes of disk space and 200 Gigabytes of data transfer for a monthly price of $29.95. The plan gives users access to a WebHost Manager account in which they may define their own web hosting plan sizes and create hosting accounts for up to 150 websites in their allotted space. Reseller clients can receive support for any technical issues by contacting Spoono Host's support channels including AOL IM chat, online ticketing system, e-mail, online support forum, and toll-free phone number.

"The reseller plan provides an amazing opportunity for entrepreneurial web designers to build full-fledged web hosting companies without going through all the server administration headaches of managing their own servers," remarked Co-owner and chief designer, Brian Fusco. "At our current price offering, we just hope they don't put us out of business."

According to the company, Spoono Host reseller clients will all be placed on powerful, state-of-the-art, web servers to meet the most demanding website needs. The minimum server specs for the reseller cluster are Dual 2.8GHz Pentium 4 Xeon servers with 2GB of RAM. The servers are housed in a robust 78,500 sq. ft datacenter in Dallas, TX that features blazing, redundant fiber optic connections to 11 backbone internet providers. To ensure the safety of Spoono Host client's data, daily backups of all files are transferred to a facility in Kansas, which is in turn backed up to one further nearby facility.

"With our current backup technology, losing data is simply not a possibility for Spoono Host clients," says Co-owner and Chief Programmer, Akash Goel.
