Walmart to Host NASCAR Events in Phoenix Area Stores Starting Nov. 7
Retailer Gears Up with Driver Appearances, Racing Simulators, Authentic Race Merchandise, Race Day Savings

PHOENIX, Nov. 5, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- As the Phoenix International Raceway prepares for the upcoming AdvoCare 500, select Walmart stores in the Phoenix metropolitan area will offer authentic NASCAR merchandise and host exclusive fan events starting Wednesday, Nov. 7, continuing through Saturday, Nov. 10.  Customers are invited to attend these special events and enjoy racing cars and simulator displays– perfect to safely get behind the wheel and feel the power of NASCAR – Nov. 7-10 from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., depending on the location. 

In addition, Hefty's Nationwide driver Eric McClure, Unilever's driver Cole Whitt, 5-hour ENERGY's driver Michael Waltrip and Kellogg's Greg Biffle are scheduled to make appearances at Phoenix area Walmart stores Nov. 8.

"Walmart is the champion of the racing fan, and we are committed to providing customers with savings on authentic merchandise, as well as unique race time experiences," said Scott Dilyard, Walmart market manager. "We want to give fans affordability and accessibility, so they can enjoy race time with their families and friends."
