ASTORIA, N.Y., Nov. 6, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Keith and the Girl, a daily comedy podcast, announces the launch of a Kickstarter campaign. The goal of the campaign is to raise $10,000 for a thirty-hour live, non-stop, comedy talk show. The money will be used to cover production costs for the marathon as well as grow the show by upgrading servers and revamping their website, forums and the active video chat system used by their fans.

The comedy talk show marathon will air live, uninterrupted, for thirty hours straight. Every $500 raised beyond the $10,000 goal adds an hour to the marathon. Pledges can be made in any amount starting at $1 all the way up to the $10,000 "Double Platinum All-In Diamond Special," which includes naming rights to the thirty-hour marathon. Personalized thank-you videos, custom artwork and a chance to attend the in-studio broadcast are part of the bargain for contributors to the campaign. The show is scheduled for the weekend of January 12, 2013 and will be available as a free audio and video stream during the broadcast.

Over 30 percent of the funding was reached within the first 48 hours of the Kickstarter campaign launch. Kicktraq, a Kickstarter tracking service, projects the campaign will reach 312 percent of its funding by December 2, 2012.

"We decided to up the ante for our fans by giving them another bonus. If we reach $30,000 of funding, in addition to making it a 70-hour marathon, we will host an exclusive stand-up show with 30 comedians. All donators ($25 and up) get a ticket to the show and digital download!" Chemda explained.

Past marathons featured comedians Jesse Joyce (Comedy Central Roasts), Carmen Lynch (Last Comic Standing), Pat Dixon (Craig Ferguson Show) and Christian Finnegan (Chapelle's Show). Keith and the Girl will release a complete guest-list lineup at the close of the Kickstarter campaign.
