In many cases, the end of the year gives you time to step back and take stock of the last 12 months. This is when many of us take a hard look at what worked and what did not, complete performance reviews, and formulate plans for the coming year. For me, it is all of those things plus a time when I u...
Sleep With a Purpose and Keller Williams Hollywood Hills Realty to Launch Bed for Bed Program in Los Angeles

LOS ANGELES, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 11/08/12 -- Sleep With a Purpose (SWAP), the world's first for-profit social impact mattress and bedding company created to help alleviate homelessness and support low-income housing initiatives, will be offering a preferred customer discount exclusively to clients of Keller Williams Hollywood Hills Realty in the West Hollywood area of Los Angeles, Calif. SWAP's "Bed for a Bed" program allows the company to donate one bed to someone in need for every bed purchased. The company will also donate sheets, blankets and pillows, following this same one-for-one model. An initiative of the United Way of Greater Los Angeles and the L.A. Area Chamber of Commerce, Home for Good will be the major benefactor for donated goods from the partnership.

"We're honored with this cultural opportunity to share with our clients and give back to the community," says Keller Williams Hollywood Hills Realty Team Leader Chuck Keller. The well-known firm operates in approximately 677 market centers across the United States and Canada, and is the second-largest residential real estate company in the U.S. Partnering with SWAP will allow clients the opportunity to sleep comfortably while making a significant impact on homelessness in their local communities.

"Partnering with a well-known realty firm like Keller Williams is a perfect opportunity to create synergies between our two businesses and build awareness in the L.A. area," says SWAP Founder and Chief Bed Giver Josh Helland. "The preferred discount program allows Keller Williams to be seen as an innovator who is always striving to add value to their current and future client base, all while giving back to their local community and supporting those who are just now transitioning out of homelessness and into new housing. This is one of those win-win opportunities and we can't wait to host a Bed Drop in their honor in the coming months."

The SWAP and Keller Williams' partnership will assist Home for Good, a comprehensive, five-year action plan to end chronic and veteran homelessness in L.A. County by 2016. The effort has exceeded its annual goals and Home for Good partners have placed 1,569 veterans and 3,924 chronic homeless individuals into permanent housing. Following sales of SWAP mattresses at some of the largest retail locations in the U.S., SWAP has already donated mattresses to the Alpha Community Services YMCA (a branch of the Central Connecticut Coast YMCA), supportive housing WORKS (a partner of the United Way of Coastal Fairfield County), and U.S. VETS in Inglewood, Calif.

SWAP works with manufacturers to create high-quality mattress and bedding products with health and chiropractic benefits that are sold online and through some of the largest mattress retailers in the United States. The SWAP mattress collection includes: the COURAGE Firm Mattress, the EMPOWER Euro-Top Mattress, the IMAGINE Memory Foam Mattress, and the INSPIRE Plush Mattress. Prices range from $699 to $2,399. The company also offers The Pure Collection, 100% certified organic sheets, and the Luxe Collection, 618 thread count, cotton blend sheets, with the same one-for-one sales promise.

For hotels, interior designers, real estate companies outside of Los Angeles, and retailers who are interested in receiving the SWAP preferred customer discount, contact SWAP at Consumers can visit to learn more about the organization and where to purchase SWAP beds and bedding.
