Little League International Announces Two Communications Openings

Senior Director of Communications                    

Little League International is searching for a Senior Director of Communications, whose primary responsibility is to sustain and enhance all communications efforts of Little League International. Based in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, this full-time position directly supervises a communications staff of three, and is responsible for the day-to-day management of public relations efforts, media coordination, publications, website content, printing, copywriting, social media, and new media/digital content.

Successful applicants will have forward-thinking, hands-on leadership experience, and the ability to manage timely and diverse communications projects.  Working with all departments of Little League International, the Senior Director of Communications will coordinate resources such as training videos and marketing programs.

Knowledge of Little League Baseball and Softball rules and regulations is essential, as is the ability to develop and shape key organizational messages that promotes the Little League brand.  

The Senior Director of Communications must be well-versed in all forms of communications, and capable of serving as Little League International spokesperson for varied audiences including the media, volunteers, sponsors, and outside organizations.  Previous public speaking experience is required.

Successful applicants will have a passion for baseball and softball.  Five-to-seven years of successful public relations or corporate communications experience and four-year degree in a communications field are required.

Director of Media Relations                                   

Little League International is searching for a Director of Media Relations, whose primary responsibility will be to design and implement media relations strategies that advance the mission of Little League International. Based in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, this full-time position requires candidates have a solid understanding of and strong experience with every form of traditional and nontraditional media.

This position will report Little League International news to a vast media list, and develop story angles that will be assertively pitched to targeted media.  Ideal candidates will have proven media outreach experience using both reactive and proactive PR styles.

Game-day experience is preferred as this position will spearhead the media relations initiatives for the internationally-respected Little League World Series.

Successful applicants will have strong writing and interpersonal skills, as well as a passion for baseball and youth sports.  Five-years of successful media relations experience and a minimum bachelor's degree in a communications field are required.
