I do not agree that NewSQL vendors focus on giving scale-out features to transactional data. The NewSQL market is focusing on giving true ACID support combined with extreme performance, stepping away from the traditional relational structures in databases. A lot of developers appreciate the ease of accessing data using SQL and I think we will see more and more databases supporting standard SQL. As you said - NewSQL databases often maintain the...

In many cases, the end of the year gives you time to step back and take stock of the last 12 months. DSIT Solutions Ltd., an Acorn Energy Company, Receives an Order for Six Portable Diver Detection Sonar Systems for the Protection of Naval Vessels

GIVAT SHMUEL, Israel, Nov. 9, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- DSIT, an Acorn Energy Inc. (NASDAQ: ACFN) company, announced today receipt of an order for six of its PointShield™ Portable Diver Detection Sonar (PDDS) systems. The PointShield™ PDDS units were ordered by a large defense integrator for use by a Navy to protect its naval vessels at anchor at home and at remote points of berth.

The end user is a repeat customer for DSIT's underwater security systems, who has already purchased both DSIT's AquaShield Diver Detection (DDS) systems and PointShield PDDS systems.

"We are hearing from an increasing number of customers that the protection of naval vessels as well as the protection of yachts from the threat of underwater approach is a burning issue that has until now slipped under the wire, so to speak, and is now being viewed as very important and urgent," said Dan Ben-Dov, DSIT's VP Sales and Marketing. "Ships, even naval ships, are quite vulnerable when at anchor, and the best way to protect them from the threat of underwater attack and sabotage is by equipping them with effective portable underwater intruder detection devices. Providing long range detection and fully automatic classification without the need for a trained human operator, DSIT's PointShield™, is perfectly designed for this purpose. "

"DSIT has been increasing both personnel and manufacturing capabilities to meet the growing number of orders that have been received for our underwater security systems," commented Benny Sela, DSIT's CEO. "We also view with much satisfaction the fact that we are receiving repeat orders from our customers, a fact which indicates their satisfaction and trust in DSIT's Shield™ family of diver detection sonar systems."
