NEW YORK, Nov. 16, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Cardinal Timothy Michael Dolan, Archbishop of New York, General Joseph Dunford, Assistant Commandant, United States Marine Corps, the Honorable Cyrus Vance, Jr., District Attorney, New York County and Tommy Lasorda, Vice President, Los Angeles Dodgers were honored today by the Federal Law Enforcement Foundation as part of the organization's 25^th "Year of Service to America" awards luncheon at the Waldorf-Astoria on Friday, November 16, 2012.  Prior to the luncheon the Foundation recognized 115 federal agents, police officers, federal prosecutors and district attorneys from throughout the nation who were nominated by their respective departments for special recognition. 

"All of the individuals we recognize today and in previous years have worked in some capacity to protect and safeguard our freedom that was won with the courage and blood of those who have fallen," said Foundation Chairman Anthony Bergamo.  "It never ceases to amaze me how each year we have the privilege to honor so many committed and dedicated law enforcement officials.  I am honored to have the support of such a dedicated board of directors who make this awards ceremony possible."  Mr. Bergamo also is vice chairman of MB Real Estate in New York City.  He founded the Foundation in 1988.

Previous Foundation honorees have included President Bill Clinton, US Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor, Secretary of State Dr. Henry Kissinger, General Colin Powell, New York State Governors David Paterson, Eliot Spitzer and George Pataki, US Senator Charles Schumer, Admiral William McRaven, Commander, US Special Operations Command and General James Amos, Commandant of the US Marine Corps.
