In many cases, the end of the year gives you time to step back and take stock of the last 12 months. This is when many of us take a hard look at what worked and what did not, complete performance reviews, and formulate plans for the coming year. For me, it is all of those things plus a time when I u...
Zumbiel Presents 7th "Zumbiel Package University"
Paperboard Packaging Seminar Provides Customers and Business Partners with Knowledge and Tools for Success

HEBRON, Ky., Nov. 26, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- On November 8–9, Zumbiel Packaging, a leading independent paperboard packaging company, presented Zumbiel Package University, a two-day paperboard packaging seminar for its clients, allies, employees and marketing partners. The respected event was held at the Cincinnati Airport Marriott in Hebron, Ky. , less than 10 miles from Zumbiel's 500,000 square-foot paperboard converting facility.

The seminar covered the entire paperboard packaging process, including paperboard substrates and applications, sustainability, manufacturing, structural design, pre-press operations, printing processes and die-cutting and finishing. Attendees were provided with a host of supplemental educational materials, a syllabus, and paperboard substrate examples for hands-on learning. The instructors held applied workshops after each session in order to reinforce the learning objectives.

The seminar was led by two highly respected paperboard industry experts: Dan Malenke, an accomplished practitioner, solutions provider, educator, author and president of PKGPRO, LLC; and Greg Bachmann, an experienced technical resource in the coated paperboard industry, with a career comprising more than 25 years of marketing, product management and manufacturing.

This is the seventh Zumbiel Package University since 2009, when the company first offered the seminar for select customers. Since then, more than 400 participants from over 40 different organizations have "graduated" from the course. This was one of Zumbiel's most successful classes yet, with 25 participants from 10 different organizations attending.

Participants were given evaluation forms after each session to rate and comment on the learning materials and overall presentation. The seminar received consistently high marks from the attendees. One anonymous participant remarked, "The sessions were tremendous and truly helped me get a better feel of the entire process. I appreciate the depth of the topics and passion of the presenters."

"We take great pride in being able to provide our customers and business partners with the knowledge and tools to help them succeed," said Joe Norton, senior vice president, sales and customer service at Zumbiel. "We're committed to being a full packaging partner for our customers, not just a vendor."
