In many cases, the end of the year gives you time to step back and take stock of the last 12 months. This is when many of us take a hard look at what worked and what did not, complete performance reviews, and formulate plans for the coming year. For me, it is all of those things plus a time when I u...

Vanco Services Introduces Mobile Payment Solution Specifically for Faith-Based Organizations Just in Time for Largest Donation Season of the Year

MINNEAPOLIS, Nov. 27, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Vanco Services, LLC, a leading provider of electronic payment solutions, announced today that it will begin marketing a new mobile payment solution as a way for churches and other faith-based clients to process donations and payments anywhere using a smartphone or tablet.

Until now, most marketing for this relatively new payment technology—characterized by curious-looking plug-in card readers—has targeted micromerchants using a one-size-fits-all approach. This announcement by Vanco represents a concentrated effort to target a well-defined audience with a mobile payment platform.

It's the right solution at the right time. Churches and other faith-based organizations are heavily dependent on support from a population that is increasingly less likely to write checks or carry cash. (Source: The 2010 Federal Reserve Payments Study) With Vanco's mobile payment solution, organizations can easily swipe a credit or debit card at any type of onsite or off-site fundraiser and never lose a contribution for lack of a portable, donor-friendly payment method.

Vanco, a financial technology company and PCI Level 1 Compliant Service Provider, is a major processor of credit card, debit card and ACH transactions in several niche markets. In the faith-based nonprofit market, more than 12,000 churches, schools and other organizations already use Vanco's proprietary web-based solutions for donations, tuition and other payments. In evaluating card readers for use with the new service, Vanco specifically looked for an easy-to-use device with strong encryption that would integrate seamlessly with its other solutions.

"We are very excited about helping our clients expand their fundraising potential," said Casey O'Keefe, Vice President of Marketing and New Product Development for Vanco Services. "Vanco's mobile payment solution is a perfect fit with our existing lineup of electronic payment services and will help our clients tap into rapidly emerging trends in mobile payments." Just last week a senior Hybris consultant shared the story of a customer engagement on which he was working. This customer had problems, serious problems. We’re talking about response times far beyond the most liberal acceptable standard. They were unable to solve the issue in their eC...
Small teams are more effective. The general agreement is that anything from 5 to 12 is the 'right' small. But of course small teams will also have 'small' throughput - relatively speaking. So if your demand is X and the throughput of a small team is X/10, you probably need 10 teams to ...
