Assurant Health Names Mike Hamilton New Senior Vice President, Chief Sales Officer

MILWAUKEE, Nov. 29, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Assurant Health, a national provider of major medical, fixed-benefit and supplemental health insurance products, announces the appointment of Mike Hamilton as its Senior Vice President, Chief Sales Officer.

In this role, Hamilton, 46, will be responsible for enhancing and expanding the company's distribution capabilities.

"Mike brings a well-developed skill set and sales leadership experience that is essential for this executive role," said Assurant Health CEO Adam Lamnin. "Mike will work closely with our product line leaders to enhance our offerings and to help grow sales."

Hamilton has held a number of high-profile roles during more than 20 years in the financial services and insurance industries. Most recently, he was the CEO of his own consultancy, where he provided direction to businesses looking to build distribution and operational capabilities.

Prior to consulting, Hamilton served as president of Nationwide Retail Distribution/chief executive officer Nationwide Securities, LLC, and Nationwide Financial Network, where he created and implemented a complex distribution strategy, which involved integrating multiple distribution channels and implementing sales metrics. Hamilton also has served in leadership roles at Merrill Lynch, North American Financial Corporation and Jackson National Life.

Prior to his career in financial services, Hamilton served as a captain in the Armored Cavalry division of the U.S. Army, earning a Bronze Star for valor, the Kuwaiti Liberation Medal and a Presidential Citation during Desert Storm. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from Norwich University in Northfield, Vt., and is married with three children.
