Niklas Bjorkman wrote: Firstly I agree with your conclusion. NewSQL takes the best of the traditional databases and NoSQL databases to combine the benefits of both worlds. I do not agree that NewSQL vendors focus on giving scale-out features to transactional data. The NewSQL market is focusing on giving true ACID support combined with extreme performance, stepping away from the traditional relational structures in databases. A lot of developers appreciate the ease of accessing data using SQL and I think we will see more and more databases supporting standard SQL. As you said - NewSQL databases often maintain the...

In many cases, the end of the year gives you time to step back and take stock of the last 12 months. This is when many of us take a hard look at what worked and what did not, complete performance reviews, and formulate plans for the coming year. Introducing Mobile Form Credit Card Processing from ProntoForms, by TrueContext
Mobile forms leader adds payment processing functionality to its solution

OTTAWA, ONTARIO -- (Marketwire) -- 12/03/12 -- TrueContext Mobile Solutions Corporation (TSX VENTURE:TMN), maker of ProntoForms®, a smartphone and tablet mobile form business solution, today launched mobile credit card processing. ProntoForms field users can now accept credit card payments within mobile forms, in the context of a business process taking place.

Businesses deploy ProntoForms on field worker mobile devices to improve any process or workflow. Workers can collect and be dispatched data, including text, signatures, photos and barcodes, and instantly communicate it back to head office or other data destinations. Easily integratable with any back office system, ProntoForms mobile forms now also securely incorporate credit card transactions on the mobile device.

"Historically, businesses collecting mobile payments have struggled with how to combine paper invoices or forms, or even electronic documents, with a mobile payment transaction confirmation. It would require costly, inefficient custom built solutions or manual reconciliation. We offer a major innovation - the ability to collect payments directly from a sales order or any other form - ensuring that all data, including payment confirmation, is submitted back to the server as one record. This significantly speeds up payment collection and better streamlines accounting," explains Alvaro Pombo, TrueContext CEO.

ProntoForms has partnered with two North American secure payment processors, offering a choice with which to set up a merchant account. Mobile device card reader adapters are available from the payment processors, allowing field users to swipe a client's credit card quickly and easily.
