SCOTTSDALE, AZ -- (Marketwire) -- 12/06/12 -- Barrett-Jackson, The World's Greatest Collector Car Auctions™ is excited to announce the return of the company's flagship Scottsdale auction, taking place January 13-20, 2013 at WestWorld of Scottsdale. Hundreds of thousands of spectators and collectors, from all around the world, are expected to participate in the world-class automotive lifestyle event and witness over 1,000 Classics, Exotics, Muscle Cars, Hot Rods, Resto-Mods and Contemporary Collectibles as they cross the auction block at no reserve.

The 2013 auction marks the return of the company's impressive 5000 Series, which includes the Salon Collection and features approximately 50 of the world's most sought-after, unique and valuable automobiles. Ranging from elite prototypes, muscle cars to classics, these prestigious vehicles have been hand-selected to sell on Saturday, January 19th beginning at approximately 5:00pm. In addition to the Salon Collection, Barrett-Jackson will honor one of the world's greatest automotive icons, Carroll Shelby, by auctioning off nearly 30 Shelby automobiles at No Reserve. Barrett-Jackson will also offer a variety of other vehicles that carry Hollywood history, including the 1966 Original #1 Batmobile (lot #5037) by renowned customizer, George Barris, as well as Clark Gable's 1955 Mercedes-Benz 300SL Gullwing Coupe (lot #5001) and a 1919 Pierce Arrow (lot #5028) built for the famous silent movie comedian Roscoe "Fatty" Arbuckle.

"Barrett-Jackson's Scottsdale auction is unlike any other automotive event in the world," said Craig Jackson, Chairman and CEO of Barrett-Jackson. "With the caliber of vehicles crossing our auction block this year, I believe this could be the greatest selection of cars ever sold at one auction in history.
