Me having experience dealing with cloud based tech and consulting and integration services, I realize the need for a secure and consistant cloud service. Many people are concerned with the privacy, or lack thereof, that could occur with storing personal documents into a non-physical storage unit. I can see, though with companies such as ours and Metacloud, we are working toward a more secure and easy to use cloud system for both personal and professional use. Spursh Parikh www.sererra.com

In many cases, the end of the year gives you time to step back and take stock of the last 12 months. This is when many of us take a hard look at what worked and what did not, complete performance reviews, and formulate plans for the coming year. For me, it is all of those things plus a time when I u...

Over Half of Parents to Splurge on Kids' Presents This Christmas Despite Financial Climate

LONDON, December 7, 2012 /PRNewswire/ --

Over 55% of British parents have not cut back on children's presents this Christmas despite deep government cuts affecting household incomes.

The results came to light in a recent survey by money-saving website, MyFamilyClub.co.uk.

Survey figures also revealed that:

  • 53% of parents also confessed to not having made a pre-Christmas plan or budget to deal with burgeoning festive spending.

The results  come on the back of one of the biggest spending weekends of the year with British families snapping up online bargains and deals as part of Cyber Monday this week. High streets across the country have also held annual "no-traffic" days in a bid by local councils to ease road congestion as frantic parents hit the shops.

Commenting, Gemma Johnson, CEO of MyFamilyClub.co.uk, said:

"For lots of parents the need to provide the perfect Christmas is yet another added pressure in what has already been a tough year for most families.

"We all know Christmas isn't about expensive gifts, but the chance to give friends and loved ones a special present that we hope they'll cherish is a  pleasure most people are unwilling to give up.

"At MyFamilyClub.co.uk we make sure that we always find the best deals, discounts and offers to make sure that you're always saving money on your shop.

"But at Christmas time the price of treats and goodies soon add up which is why we're running our daily Advent Calendar where we're giving away a prize each day.

"No one wants to be Scrooge-like at Christmas but it's crucial that parents take control of their finances to ensure that they don't enter 2013 laden with debt."

Notes to Editors

The MyFamilyClub.co.uk  Christmas survey questioned 1,605 parents in November 2012.

When asked: How many presents will you be buying your children this year?  56.6% responded that would spend "The same amount as last year".

When asked: "Do you have a set budget for Christmas this year?" 52.6% responded "No."

The MyFamilyClub.co.uk Advent Calendar will be giving away a prize each day over advent.

Prizes include DVD bundles from Sony Home Entertainment, a Sanctuary Spa beauty set and prize bundles from Lego, Puffin Books and Bratzilla Dolls.
