In many cases, the end of the year gives you time to step back and take stock of the last 12 months. This is when many of us take a hard look at what worked and what did not, complete performance reviews, and formulate plans for the coming year. For me, it is all of those things plus a time when I u...
Smithers Rapra’s Silicone Elastomers 2013 returns to Germany

Smithers Rapra is pleased to announce the dates for the Silicone Elastomers 2013, the 6th edition to be offered in Europe and 8th on an International scale. The 3-day conference will take place 10-12 June 2013, at the Hilton Munich City. Silicone Elastomers 2013 will bring together manufacturers, processors, end-users, designers and researchers for a summit-style technical discussion of silicone elastomer materials, global markets, processing advancements and novel applications.

“At Silicone Elastomers 2013, industrial and academic research staff and the customer users of silicone elastomers will explore the emerging applications, manufacturing techniques, processing improvements and testing advances that are moving this growing industry forward,” said Andrew Smaha, Conference Director for Smithers Rapra. “The presenters at last year’s Berlin and Cincinnati events delivered truly outstanding content, and we have reworked and combined these two events into a singular, annual format in 2013 to attract even deeper dialogue among OEMs, end users and academics.

Added for 2013 will be several strategic roundtable discussions aimed at breaking down collaborative barriers to the betterment of the industry as a whole, as well as dedicated time for private development meetings between clients and manufacturers -- all to ensure that the event continues to be a critical forum for networking, collaboration and information exchange about what deliverables are needed for silicone elastomers to expand their share of the market.”

Silicone Elastomers 2013 will cover the use of silicone elastomers in a wide range of industries– including applications in medical, automotive and industries yet to be fully exploited. The 2013 program will also touch on the whole range of silicone elastomer materials, including high temperature vulcanized (HTV), room temperature vulcanized (RTV), high consistency silicone rubber (HCR) and liquid silicone rubber (LSR).

Speaker recruitment for Silicone Elastomers 2013 is now underway. To submit a paper topic for consideration, please contact conference director Andrew Smaha at +1 207 781 9617 or with a proposed title, name of presenter, paragraph description and full contact details no later than 15 January 2013. The conference advisory will review abstracts submitted, and authors will be notified of acceptance by Friday, 25 January 2013.

Sponsorship and exhibition opportunities are available; please contact Bill Allen at +44 (0)1372 802086 or email if you are interested in learning more about the benefits of partnering on this annual, international Silicone Elastomers event.
