Similar is the case with managed multi Cloud hosting. You can very well understand how a big burden it would be to manage multi cloud servers for organization; this is why a service known as managed multi Cloud is provided to these users. This service ensures them the seam less running of their system administrative operations while organizations focus more on t...

In many cases, the end of the year gives you time to step back and take stock of the last 12 months. Sleep Study by Stanford Sleep and Circadian Neurobiology Laboratory Presented at Asian Sleep Research Society Congress
- Research on Sleep Quality Difference between High Rebound Mattress Pad (airweave) and Low-Rebound Mattress Pad -

KODA, Japan, Dec. 14, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- airweave inc. has been pursuing better sleep by verifying the effect of its highly-resilient mattress pad "airweave" on sleep from a scientific point of view under the company's basic policy of "The Quality Sleep". The company started selling "airweave" in 2007. As part of this effort, sleep research with SCN lab*, one of the most prestigious research centers in the world, was conducted last year. The result of the study was presented at the 7th Asian Sleep Research Society Congress, held in Taipei from Nov. 30 to Dec. 2. In the presentation, it was shown that "airweave" had induced better quality of sleep due to a more effective and natural heat loss during the initial phase of sleep.

- Joint Research with SCN lab
The study was mainly conducted by SCN lab (Director: Dr. Seiji Nishino) and with cooperation from Ota Sleep Science Center (Dr. Shintaro Chiba, Kawasaki, Japan). Dr. Chiba reported the results of the research on changes in core body temperature during sleep on those two mattress pads (Note1). The research concluded that the high-resilient pad "airweave" had had a significant beneficial effect on sleep due to a more effective and natural heat loss during the initial phase of sleep. It was the general perception that the bedding products had no effect on the sleep quality and one can choose any product according to personal preference. However, this research result indicates that the selection of bedding is one of the important factors to improve sleep quality.

- Research Methods and Results
The study has evaluated effects of "airweave" on sleep and associated physiology, such as PSG*, changes in the core body temperature and rollover; the effects were compared to those of a low-rebound mattress with similar design and similar price range. The study was done in 10 healthy males (mean age; 27.6 yrs) with a randomized cross over single-blind design of one night sleep PSG (starting from 23:00) at the sleep laboratory with an interval of one day or two. The data shows that a more effective and natural heat loss and an increase in deep sleep during the initial phase of sleep appeared while sleeping with airweave.
(*PSG =polysomnography: a test that measures physiological phenomena such as EEG during sleep)

Subjects fell asleep rapidly with both mattress pads. Interestingly, the core body temperature rapidly and continuously decreased with airweave and reached the nadir (36.0 C) at 2:00-3:00, while a decline in the temperature with a low-rebound mattress pad was modest and remained 0.4 C higher than that with airweave between 1:00 to 2:00. Since a significant difference in the core temperature was observed in the initial phase of sleep, PSG data was also analyzed, and a significant increase in Stage 4 sleep was found with airweave.

In general, it is said that a rise and fall in the core temperature when falling asleep is important for sleep quality, and a sudden and deep decline in the core temperature induces better sleep.

As mentioned above, airweave induces better quality of sleep due to a rapid and continuous decline in the core body temperature. The increased amount of deep sleep occurred in association with changes in the core temperature observed.

Research on sleep and growth hormone

In general, it is said that good-quality sleep has a strong effect on the secretion of growth hormone. It is also a common understanding that growth hormone promotes skin and cell repair, recovery from fatigue and growth of young children. airweave inc. will continue the sleep research, including studies like the one in this release, and contributing to the comfortable life of everyone.
