Niklas Bjorkman wrote: Firstly I agree with your conclusion. NewSQL takes the best of the traditional databases and NoSQL databases to combine the benefits of both worlds. I do not agree that NewSQL vendors focus on giving scale-out features to transactional data. The NewSQL market is focusing on giving true ACID support combined with extreme performance, stepping away from the traditional relational structures in databases. A lot of developers appreciate the ease of accessing data using SQL and I think we will see more and more databases supporting standard SQL. As you said - NewSQL databases often maintain the...

In many cases, the end of the year gives you time to step back and take stock of the last 12 months. This is when many of us take a hard look at what worked and what did not, complete performance reviews, and formulate plans for the coming year. Medbox, Inc. Contracts to Increase Staffing in Key Positions within the Company
The company also clarified a comparison to the video distribution kiosk, "Redbox"

HOLLYWOOD, Calif., Dec. 14, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Medbox, Inc. (OTC Pink Sheets: MDBX) (www.medboxinc.com), announces contracting with a nationally recognized executive recruitment firm to help bolster its officers, board members, and administrative staff with added experience and expertise.

The firm will be assisting Medbox in finding experienced executives in the following disciplines:

  • Chief Executive Officer for one of the company's subsidiaries
  • Director of Mergers & Acquisitions
  • Executive Assistant

The contracted firm will be handling all related recruitment activity. Medbox will not field any job placement inquiries and asks that no employment solicitations be sent directly to the company, as they will not be considered.

To aid in the company's expansion plans, Medbox is in the midst of expanding its corporate headquarters to accommodate additional team members that will allow it to satisfy its sales goals for the coming years.

"As talented as our existing executives are, progressive companies need to always have an eye on recruitment," stated Dr. Bruce Bedrick, CEO of Medbox, Inc. "Investors believe we can become a billion dollar company. It is our goal to make sure we live up to the high expectations being placed on us. Strong business ethics, a sound business model, and talent in key positions within the company are what will set us apart."

In other news, the company once again clarified how its systems are used in Medical Marijuana Dispensaries. In a recent article, a news source mentioned that Medbox machines are similar to a "Redbox" video dispenser. While the article wasn't disparaging to Medbox in any way, the need for further clarification on the point has relevance. Medbox is used in medical marijuana dispensaries as an inventory management and compliance tool and is not a means of making marijuana "easier" to obtain. The machine is placed behind-the-counter and is not directly accessible to patients. The system also ensures proper accounting and taxation, as the machine can be configured to send real-time reports to States to document accurate tax reporting without releasing any private patient information.

Two demonstrations show the process of how the Medbox (Medicine Dispensing Systems) software works in conjunction with a highly regulated, legally compliant, and outwardly transparent model. One entitled "MDS Demo" shows how patient details are securely tracked and monitored in a HIPAA compliant system using biometrics or physical ID (patient's option) to verify and authenticate patients prior to allowing dispensary operators to access the dispensing machine for allotment of medicine to the patient. The system also ensures the patient's physician authorization is valid and State dispensing limits are not exceeded. The second demonstration entitled "Transaction Process" has no audio, but demonstrates how a medical marijuana dispensary would operate the Medbox-MDS technology in a typical dispensary setting.
