Niklas Bjorkman wrote: Firstly I agree with your conclusion. NewSQL takes the best of the traditional databases and NoSQL databases to combine the benefits of both worlds. I do not agree that NewSQL vendors focus on giving scale-out features to transactional data. The NewSQL market is focusing on giving true ACID support combined with extreme performance, stepping away from the traditional relational structures in databases. A lot of developers appreciate the ease of accessing data using SQL and I think we will see more and more databases supporting standard SQL. As you said - NewSQL databases often maintain the...

In many cases, the end of the year gives you time to step back and take stock of the last 12 months. This is when many of us take a hard look at what worked and what did not, complete performance reviews, and formulate plans for the coming year. Porn Search Solved with XXX Workaround
ICM Gives Consumers What They Want with Reminder That XXX is All One Needs

PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla., Dec. 14, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- As the Internet reels over Google's decision to purposefully make explicit images harder for the consumer to find, ICM Registry is delivering assurance that the porn-browsing public can still get all they want by adding three small letters to their search queries.

The advice, which is available for appropriate audiences, is that one can simply type a description of whatever porn one wants into any search bar followed by the letters "XXX." Results are instant and on target. For example, if one is looking for adult content that includes a mainstream generic word like "Toys," simply enter the search term "Toys XXX" and problem solved. The same search works for those who prefer other search engines too; try "Gay xxx," "Shemales xxx," or "Orgasms xxx" in virtually any search engine. Of course age appropriate Internet users can best and most quickly find adult content through ICM's www.search.xxx dedicated porn search engine too, without using the "XXX" trick.

This tip is being offered to the public by ICM Registry, the owners and operators of the .XXX domain, in the wake of the Internet's uproar surrounding Google's decision to censor explicit images in their image search engine.

"Our existing customers are already reporting increased traffic to their sites from Google as a result of the algorithm changes and the advice given by publications like ZDNET to append the XXX letters.  Indeed our own search engine www.search.xxx has seen an almost 50% increase in traffic in the last 24 hours," Stuart Lawley, CEO of ICM Registry.

"We need to deliver peace of mind for Internet users worldwide that the adult content they have come to enjoy will forever be searchable and available," said Lawley. "The Internet's outpouring of grief over a potential future without online adult content has reinforced the purpose and usefulness of the work being done by the dedicated men and women of ICM Registry, who are devoted to building appropriate destinations for adult consumers who are looking for adult content."

Lawley added that Google's development should be welcomed as no more than a signal that the Internet is simply changing into a more targeted community where people can easily find what they are looking for - including the porn-searching consumer.

"The effective de-ranking of adult content in an attempt to prevent inadvertent exposure to adult content is a trend we have seen in recent months by the major search engines," Lawley said. "New top-level domains such as .XXX are making it easier for consumers to find exactly what they want while at the same time making it easy for those wishing to avoid such content.  This is all about giving the consumer what they want and expect without surprises."

.XXX domains were launched by ICM Registry in December 2011 to function as a responsible alternative domain for sites that offer adult entertainment content and services.  From the beginning, all .XXX sites were appropriately labeled and McAfee Malware scanned to give users a clear, advanced indication of a site's likely content.

".XXX addresses the unique needs of the online adult entertainment industry by giving it an address to demonstrate responsible self-regulation," Lawley said. "The positive response has been overwhelming as consumers and the adult entertainment providers enjoy the benefits and infinite possibilities of the new TLD program."

.XXX sites are the only domains in the world to benefit from daily malware scanning as a standard, which makes .XXX sites among the safest on the Internet. Further, each comes with a MetaCert electronic Family Safety label, making it easier for users, organizations and parents to adjust their browser settings to restrict access to websites that are clearly labeled as potentially adult-oriented content.

More on Search.xxx
Search.xxx offers a clean user interface and intuitive keyword searches.  Search.xxx uses the same technology as usual mainstream search engines but is for adult content only. Search.xxx allows you to set your language preference and your sexual orientation preference, as well as to control the "look and feel" of your style preference. Additionally the service offers 50 pre-set categories and selections already figured out based on popular surfing habits. Recent enhancements allow users to search specifically for videos, still images, cam sites, stores, DVDs and more, making Search.xxx an experience totally focused on delivering exactly the adult entertainment users want: quickly, discreetly and easily.

More on ICM Registry
ICM Registry, headquartered in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, is the registry operator for the .XXX sponsored top-level domain as approved by ICANN in 2011.  ICM Registry provides the management and supporting infrastructure for this extension offered via registrars around the world.
