Niklas Bjorkman wrote: Firstly I agree with your conclusion. NewSQL takes the best of the traditional databases and NoSQL databases to combine the benefits of both worlds. I do not agree that NewSQL vendors focus on giving scale-out features to transactional data. The NewSQL market is focusing on giving true ACID support combined with extreme performance, stepping away from the traditional relational structures in databases. A lot of developers appreciate the ease of accessing data using SQL and I think we will see more and more databases supporting standard SQL. As you said - NewSQL databases often maintain the...

In many cases, the end of the year gives you time to step back and take stock of the last 12 months. This is when many of us take a hard look at what worked and what did not, complete performance reviews, and formulate plans for the coming year. For me, it is all of those things plus a time when I u...

iCOMBAT Launches Pozible Campaign To Raise Awareness And Build Funding For Training And Gaming Complex
iCOMBAT is coming to SE Wisconsin and is growing with the help of Pozible

MILWAUKEE and WHITEWATER, Wis., Jan. 23, 2013 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- iCOMBAT, the world-wide leader in realistic combat sports, has recently launched a Pozible campaign to help raise funds for a state-of-the-art training and gaming center in Southeast Wisconsin. The facility will be the most realistic and advanced laser combat arena in the world. Players will be fully immersed in their surroundings and missions.

Of course, a battleground arena of that magnitude and detail is expensive to build out. That's why iCOMBAT has tapped Pozible, a 'crowdfunding' fundraising website, to help raise funds and build an early fan base. Although several successful iCOMBAT facilities already exist around the world, this location will be the first in Wisconsin. It will double as a law enforcement training center and research and development center for iCOMBAT equipment.

"We wanted to get the community involved as we spread the word about this new entertainment venue," explains iCOMBAT President Rick Jensen. "There is also a lot of potential due to the power of crowdfunding and the internet."

People who donate to a Pozible project, otherwise known as a pledger, receive cool gifts and rewards depending on their commitment level. iCOMBAT is giving away a multitude of rewards including everything from a 'Thank You' and membership, to full day private parties and lunch with the executive team. If the fundraising goal is exceeded, the money will be used to help other operators open more locations around the world.

You can visit this Pozible project (http://www.pozible.com/project/14940) until mid-March here and get more information on our website, www.iCOMBAT.com.

About Pozible – Pozible was founded as a public funding platform for creative projects and ideas. Everything from film, games, and music, to art, design, and technology is covered. It's a place for innovation and support. The Australian company has been increasing in popularity since inception due to the immense power of crowdsourcing and crowdfunding.

About iCOMBAT – iCOMBAT was created in 2012 as a division of Predator Games and irTactical. iCOMBAT allows civilians to use the very realistic irTactical combat systems, previously used only by law enforcement and the military. iCOMBAT provides players with a live video game experience, bringing games like Call of Duty to life in a completely safe environment.
