Niklas Bjorkman wrote: Firstly I agree with your conclusion. NewSQL takes the best of the traditional databases and NoSQL databases to combine the benefits of both worlds. I do not agree that NewSQL vendors focus on giving scale-out features to transactional data. The NewSQL market is focusing on giving true ACID support combined with extreme performance, stepping away from the traditional relational structures in databases. A lot of developers appreciate the ease of accessing data using SQL and I think we will see more and more databases supporting standard SQL. As you said - NewSQL databases often maintain the...

In many cases, the end of the year gives you time to step back and take stock of the last 12 months. LCD TV Buying Guide Announces CES 2013 Best Televisions; Best LED TV, Plasma, 3D TV, 4K UHD TV selected by CEAG Editors
Editors Robert Wiley, Jack Burden and Phil Conner select the Best TVs in various TV categories from CES 2013

ATLANTA, Jan. 24, 2013 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- LCDTVBUYINGGUIDE.COM editors have returned from their trip to Las Vegas with decisions on which TVs were the best of the best. Jack Burden and Robert Wiley were overwhelmed by the number of 4K TVs and OLED TVs the major manufacturers were showing off. It's no surprise that the Best TVs CES 2013 page is made up of nothing but TVs with those technologies. Sony's 4K OLED TV received much praise as the best of CES. Senior editor Wiley writes, "this TV displays the best of OLED and the best of 4K TV technologies. You get the rich inky black levels and beautiful colors of OLED and the super high resolution of 4K UHD. It's really no contest at this point." LG, Samsung, and Panasonic also had some impressive showings of their OLED technologies. Sharp finishes up the list with their 4K LED/LCD entry.

Samsung snagged a victory from editors with their UN60F8000 for the Best LED TV CES 2013. Wiley said the picture quality "is excellent due to the clear coat screen, super LED edge lighting yielding incredible peak whites, and surprisingly very decent black levels. Side angle viewing quality is also much better than most LED-backlit TVs on the market. Lastly, colors are not over saturated, but do pop and are easy to calibrate to D6500K." Others entries in this category, like LG's LA9600 and Sony's XBR-65X900A, were very impressive as well.

In the 4K UHD TV category editors noted both improved quality and numerous models presented by manufacturers on the show floor this year. Burden and Wiley came up with a list of their Best 4K UHD TV. They noted that Sony also excelled in this new technology with their new XBR-55X900A as it topped the best 4K TV list, beating out the Sharp 4K, the LG 84LM9600, and even Samsung's 110-inch 4K monster. Lcdtvbuyingguide.com editors said, "the X900A 4K TV from Sony ships in spring of 2013 and has a very advanced upgraded side mounting speaker package that goes with it. We felt the picture was better on the Sony than other 4K TVs. It looked good with motion and stationary images and the LED -edge lit backlighting did not overpower the colors as they did with some other models. This unit also looked best from side viewing angles. The active 3D content looks crazy good."

Finally, editors gave Sony another Best CES Editor's Choice Award in the Best OLED TV. The best OLED was Sony's 4K UHD OLED TV. Editor cited, "The color and clarity are simply amazing on this 4K OLED TV from Sony. Blacks are deep and color reproduction is very realistic," as reasons for the award. LG's OLED was a top contender for this title, but lost out by a hair. OLEDs from Samsung and Panasonic rounded out the bottom picks of the list.

Their TVs by Manufacturer CES 2013 offers a complete guide of TVs offered by each manufacturer for 2013.
