MIAMI, FL -- (Marketwire) -- 02/06/13 -- Florida Blue presents Fun and Fit as a Family sponsored by Carnival featuring Kellogg's Kidz Kitchen will return February 23 & 24, 2013 as part of the 12th annual Food Network South Beach Wine & Food Festival presented by FOOD & WINE. Taking place at Jungle Island, one of Miami's premier theme parks, the event will bring together everyone's favorite celebrity chefs, culinary personalities, health and fitness professionals, and more for a weekend of interactive learning for the whole family!

Fun and Fit as a Family welcomes a star-studded roster of chefs and culinary talent to help educate families about how to make healthier eating choices. Culinary demonstrations in the Kellogg's Kidz Kitchen have become an annual highlight for children and parents alike, as everyone's favorite personalities create healthy dishes worth getting excited about. The 2013 roster includes demonstrations from Giada De Laurentiis, Rocco DiSpirito, Robert Irvine, Aarón Sánchez, Andrew Zimmern, and Reed Alexander & Lorena Garcia.

Kids will have a hands-on experience, experimenting with all the major food groups in the Whole Foods Market Food Labs. Celebrity chef talent in attendance will include Reed Alexander, Sunny Anderson, Anne Burrell, Adrianne Calvo, Hedy Goldsmith, and Jeff Mauro who will guide children 5 years-of-age and up through hands-on recipe testing using only the freshest ingredients for healthy results that are sure to make the whole family happy.

Physical fitness activities provided by Florida International University and healthy food samplings from sponsors such as Badia Spices, Baptist Health South Florida, Barilla, Del Monte, Goya Foods, and many more are sure to keep the entire family active and satisfied all in addition to enjoying the fascinating animal exhibits at Jungle Island's unprecedented sustainable natural environment.

The purpose of Fun and Fit as a Family is to educate children and parents about healthy lifestyle options in a hands-on manner that fosters true understanding of the healthy lifestyle options available to families. Vibrant activities from Carnival, Florida Blue and Transitions Optical accent the healthy food samplings and culinary demonstrations for a truly well-rounded event.
