I do not agree that NewSQL vendors focus on giving scale-out features to transactional data. The NewSQL market is focusing on giving true ACID support combined with extreme performance, stepping away from the traditional relational structures in databases. A lot of developers appreciate the ease of accessing data using SQL and I think we will see more and more databases supporting standard SQL. As you said - NewSQL databases often maintain the...

In many cases, the end of the year gives you time to step back and take stock of the last 12 months. This is when many of us take a hard look at what worked and what did not, complete performance reviews, and formulate plans for the coming year. For me, it is all of those things plus a time when I u...

Forbes Recognizes Cimation as One of America's Most Promising Companies

HOUSTON, TX -- (Marketwire) -- 02/07/13 -- Cimation, a global leader in automation, industrial IT and enterprise data solutions, is pleased to announce its inclusion in Forbes' second annual America's Most Promising Companies list. At number 22, Cimation is the only consulting company for energy companies ranked in the list's top 25.

Additionally, Forbes recognized Cimation Co-founder and CEO Jonathan Klein as one of America's Most Promising CEOs under 35. At number 13, Klein was one of only 23 CEOs representing the 100 companies on the America's Most Promising Companies list.

The Forbes America's Most Promising Companies list is comprised of 100 privately held, high-growth companies with bright futures. Most of the companies ranked on this year's list, Cimation included, fall into the "technology" category.

Forbes reviewed applicants over a six-month period using a third-party data research firm specializing in assessing private companies to refine their search. According to Forbes, the final assessment was based on growth (both in sales and hiring), quality of management team and investors, margins, market size and key partnerships from that data, as well as interviews with potential list companies to debate merits and blemishes.

These announcements are the latest in a string of awards bestowed upon Cimation. In 2012, Inc. magazine ranked Cimation number 707 overall, number 29 in the energy industry, and number 10 in Houston on its sixth annual Inc. 500|5000, an exclusive ranking of the nation's fast-growing private companies. Houston Business Journal also recognized Cimation as the sixth fastest-growing high-tech business on its annual FastTech 50 list.

Also in 2012, The OGM, an energy media publication, dubbed Klein an enterprising young professional who has achieved levels of success that are motivating, inspiring and rewarding with a spotlight article in the "Up & Coming" section of its winter 2012 magazine.

Cimation delivers innovative solutions to the Energy industry. They integrate and develop Information Technology to automate oil & gas production and distribution. Cimation's solutions ensure safe operations, protect the environment, and secure the Nation's critical infrastructure. Cimation has grown by 1396% since spinning off from Audubon Engineering in 2009.
