iOS 7 Hidden Features
Oct. 30, 2013 03:30 PM
iPhone, iPad and iPod touch are very powerful multifunction devices. The new version of Apple's operating system has added hundreds of new settings and options , which fully reveal the possibilities of the hardware. In this article we will look at some hidden iOS 7 features. A selection will be interesting both for new users who are just getting started with the new firmware and advanced users testing the new 7 iOS.
iPhone and iPad Control With Head Movements
Go Settings -> General -> Accessibility -> Switch Control -> Switches - > Select an object of iOS 7 and you wil find special options allowing you to customize head movements to the right and to the left to perform certain commands. For example, you can make volume louder by moving the head to the right, and to call out a multitasking bar or return to the home screen by making a gesture to the other side. The menu is hidden away in the settings of the OS.
Frequently Visited Places
iOS 7 shows places which the user visited with his iPad and iPhone. The smartphone shows the history of movements and demonstrates the geographical coordinates and the time during which the person was in that location.
You can find this information in the menu " Privacy " ->"Geolocation services". Here is the list of services you need to select "System Services " -> "Most visited places ." The eponymous switch is set to " On". iPhone is always aware of places on the map that are visited by the user since the installation of the operating system. The second switch in this section - "Improve the map" is turned off by default. Apple needs to collect GPS coordinates tying them to the email address associated with the Apple ID.
Restrict advertising track
iOS 7 in addition to numerous improvements contains a number of hidden features, which Apple would prefer to hide from users. One such function is ad tracking, which monitors the behavior of the smartphone owner. Ad tracking works in conjunction with a special service in iOS 7 called Identifier for Advertisers or IFA. The result of their work is following: the advertising content that the iPhone or iPad owner sees is selected on the basis of his actions - surfing the web, shopping applications and other digital content. The ad company anonymously finds out your preferences and shows ads relevant to your interests. You can turn this feature off in Settings - > Privacy - > Advertising -> Limit the ad tracking.
Dynamically Change Text Size
This iOS 7 feature allows you to resize the text in applications that support the "dynamic font ." Such a need may arise if the default font is too small, or, conversely too large. Go Settings ->General and choose the section with options for Siri, Spotlight search and universal access and find for a string of text size. Click on it. Here you will see a slider which allows you to change the font size. Set it up as you wish.
Blocking Unwanted Calls and SMS
In our opinion this is one of the most remarkable innovations in iOS 7. The OS allows you to block unwanted callers. Now they will not be able to call or write if you do not want. "Black List " in iOS 7 is available for both voice calls and for text messages.
