Richard Davies wrote: The UK has a good crop of technology pioneers in cloud computing - for example ElasticHosts, FlexiScale, Flexiant, OnApp - and also some strong government initiatives such as G-Cloud. We will have to see whether this kind of technical leadership converts into swift mass-market adoption or not.

In many cases, the end of the year gives you time to step back and take stock of the last 12 months. This is when many of us take a hard look at what worked and what did not, complete performance reviews, and formulate plans for the coming year. For me, it is all of those things plus a time when I u...

Fujitsu to Exhibit Deployable Degausser for High Security Data Disposal and PalmSecure(TM) Biometric Device at the RSA Conferenc

SUNNYVALE, Calif., Jan. 31 /PRNewswire/ -- Fujitsu Computer Products of America, Inc., one of the world's leading suppliers of innovative computer products including hard disk drives, peripherals and biometric security solutions, today announced that it will be showcasing the newest addition to the Fujitsu Mag EraSURE(R) family of products, the fully manual and deployable Mag EraSURE P3M, as well as its award-winning PalmSecure biometric sensor at the RSA Conference 2007 on February 5 - 9 in San Francisco, CA.

The newest product in the Fujitsu family of degaussers, the Mag EraSURE P3M device requires no electricity and can be easily installed in a rack mount or on tabletop. Its sister products, the Mag EraSURE P2V degausser for commercial applications and the Mag EraSURE P3E degausser for high security applications, were introduced in early 2006 and will also be displayed at the show. With over thirty-five years of experience in hard disk drive manufacturing, Fujitsu has the unique knowledge and expertise to deliver best-in-class, high-performance degaussers for removing sensitive information without the possibility for recovery.

RSA attendees will have the opportunity to see live demonstrations of the Mag EraSURE P3M device, which utilizes a patented rare earth magnet technology to permanently degauss magnetically recorded information from hard disk drives. The demonstration will illustrate how simple it is to erase all data, including servo and calibration data, from hard disk drives, backup tapes and other magnetic media that contains confidential or highly sensitive information. Items degaussed using the Mag EraSURE P3M product are left with no recoverable magnetic trace or residue.

The Fujitsu PalmSecure sensor is a biometric authentication device that uses an individual's palm vein pattern to verify a person's identity. Developed using the latest in biometric security technology, the device is extremely accurate and highly reliable. In addition, its contactless interface is hygienic and non-invasive, thus promoting a high level of user acceptance.

To see these exhibitions and learn more about the technologies behind the innovation, visit the Security Engineered Machinery booth #2750 (Mag EraSURE) and the Fujitsu booth #2249 (PalmSecure), or make an appointment by contacting Stephanie Luttringhaus at (650-228-5173).

WHEN/WHERE: Date: Feb. 5 - 9, 2007 Event: RSA Conference 2007 Location: Moscone Center, San Francisco, CA Booth# 2750 (Mag EraSURE), #2249 (PalmSecure) About Fujitsu
