IRVINE, Calif., Feb. 21 /PRNewswire/ -- VXI Technology announced that the University of Cincinnati has selected VTI's latest generation of Dynamic Signal Analyzer (DSA) products for use in its undergraduate Structures and Motion Laboratory. The University of Cincinnati has been a pioneer in the development of aerospace and automotive structural test and experimental analysis techniques for over 20 years. This expertise, coupled with VTI's "gold standard" of DSA hardware, enables students to explore practical education laboratory exercises with the same equipment they will use in industry or in research work. (Logo: http://www.newscom.com/cgi-bin/prnh/20061030/LAM133LOGO ) VTI provides the latest in DSA performance and features for the structural test market with the VT1435 and VT1436 family of products, adding 24-bit performance and embedded signal conditioning in a single VXI module. This compact solution maintains compatibility with existing VXI-based DSA software solutions and also leverages the emerging LXI Standard through the use of the EX2500 Slot-0 Controller. This solution uses a Gigabit Ethernet interface designed to bridge VXI with the new LXI standard, providing a flexible, forward looking solution. "The University selected VTI based upon the ability of the VTI hardware to utilize existing commercial software for data acquisition, as well as the open architecture of the hardware which allows the University to develop specialized software solutions in Matlab(R) for both classroom and research activities. The University of Cincinnati, known for its cooperative education program with industry, is keenly aware that educating students with the same hardware they utilize in industry on their co-op job assignments, provides a more relevant education environment which translates into a competitive advantage as they explore future employment or graduate school opportunities," commented Dr. Randy Allemang, Director of the University of Cincinnati Structural Dynamics Laboratory (http://www.sdrl.uc.edu/). "We are excited to be selected by one of the leading research establishments in the world, recognizing our DSA product family's long history and commitment to new and emerging technologies," commented Chris Gibson, DSA Business Unit Manager for VTI. VXI Technology, Inc. headquartered in Irvine, California, is a global supplier of high-density modular test instruments and switching systems for both electrical and mechanical test applications. All solutions are based on open-platform, "computer independent" standards. For more information about these and other products, simply visit http://www.vxitech.com/, or call 949-955-1894.
