In many cases, the end of the year gives you time to step back and take stock of the last 12 months. This is when many of us take a hard look at what worked and what did not, complete performance reviews, and formulate plans for the coming year. For me, it is all of those things plus a time when I u...

Motorola and RealNetworks to Enable Multimedia Services on Linux-based Handsets
Motorola and RealNetworks to Enable Multimedia Services on Linux-based Handsets

Motorola will incorporate the RealOne Player in select Motorola handsets, with an initial focus on Linux-based handsets for the mass market consumer audience. The mobile version of the RealOne Player, with support for 3GPP and 3GPP2 media formats, RealAudio and RealVideo, should be available in Motorola devices in the first half of 2004.

The companies will work with leading mobile operators to enable delivery of premium live and on-demand streaming audio and video services to mobile consumers throughout the globe. Also, through HelloMoto, Motorola will distribute RealNetworks' RealOne Player for the desktop as well as the company's content services, including: RealOne RHAPSODY, RealOne SuperPass and RealOne GamePass. HelloMoto allows consumers to download games, ringtones, applications and content to enhance their mobile experience.

With the addition of the Linux operating system, the RealOne Player will operate on the four leading mobile handset platforms: Linux, OpenWave, Palm, and Symbian.

We are World Wide Mortgage / B2B Appointment Setting Service Lead Generation, Outbound Telemarketing, Customer Satisfaction Surveys, Database cleanup and Technical Support Help Desk Service

I'm glad to report that you are working off very old at best and incorrect information. We now build these media player publicly, so you can examine the how slim and lean our Symbian and Linux player are and will be. Check it out here https://helix-client.helixcommunity.org/

Real charges confiscitory amounts for artist and personalities to stream content from their servers. But they are not satisfied with that, they want to sell your listening and surfing habits to the highest bidder.
Now that the government has outlawed unwanted telemarketing, and is scrutinizing spam, they should definitely go after the spyware makers as well. No one should ever be allowed to put spyware into software in any form. All processes should be viewable by the user and cancellable at the consul/keyboard level. Privacy of the user must always be protected.

Have you looked at the license when installing the real one player. You authorize Real 1 to collect information on what web sites you visit, and what videos you play. You agree to not to attempt to block the sending of this infromation to Real Networks. If there is a dial up connection you agree to pay any fees, charges connected when the real player phones home. Will this happen from the Motorola phones as well. In light of the patriot act, can Real Networks be required to provide the government on browsing patterns without notifying the phone user?

i wonder how much additional useless baggage Real will force onto the device along with the target application.
