Dataphor Data Access Components: Data Aware by Design

(August 2, 2002) - AlphoraTM's new Dataphor Data Access ComponentsTM (DAC) suite, built on the Microsoft .NET Framework, is now available. The Dataphor DAC is a suite of components and controls that are data aware by design rather than merely data bound. The easy-to-use controls increase developer productivity and react more intelligently to navigation, searching, and data manipulation.
The Dataphor DAC offers advanced manipulation and data binding capabilities not found in the controls that come with Visual Studio .NET. The DAC features include:
Ability to switch between SQL Server, Oracle, DB2, or other supported backend database systems, without changing queries.
Intrinsically data aware controls that can react intelligently to focus changes, dataset states, and formatting.
Component that dynamically reads rows into, and performs updates from t he dataset buffer based on user navigation and demand from the controls.
The only tool in the industry that supports efficient incremental searching based on the current sort order of an arbitrary query. The DAC also provides filter-style searching.
The components support data arranged in dynamic master/detail relationships.
Changes to detail datasets are buffered in a transactional buffer until the master data buffer is posted.
Data aware user interfaces can be configured and activated at design time within the Visual Studio .NET environment
Little coding is required to build data aware applications.
