RoboHelp X3 Eases Creation of Help Systems for Windows and .NET

(November 19, 2002)- eHelp Corporation has recently announced the "X3" release of their popular RoboHelp software. Using this software, developers can create automated user assistance in many popular formats. New features include improved single-sourcing for multiple documentation targets, tools to simplify the process of creating context sensitive help, and new technology linking your WinForm application to server based Help if an http: connection is available and a .chm file if the connection is not available. Points of interest for .NET developers: 1) CHM files can be created for providing "Help" within Windows-based (WinForm) applications. 2) eHelp's HTML-based WebHelp can adapt intelligently, similar to the way in which ASP.NET server controls can adapt. For example, a modern browser will interact with RoboHelp-generated user assistance via DHTML and XML. Slightly older browsers will get a Java applet interface. The oldest of all browsers will get plain HTML. 3) New WebHelp APIs facilitate connecting context sensitive help to your applications in both WinForm (C, C++, VB) and WebForm (ASP.NET) environments. 4) Ability to create documentation directly from Microsoft Word has been dramatically improved.
