New .NET Communities Open their Doors

(April 11, 2003) - On April 8, a research group at Cornell, in association with CollabNet and Microsoft Research, opened a new Web site at www.sscli.net. The idea is that individuals working with Microsoft’s Shared Source CLI project - also known as Rotor - can use this site to collaborate on projects and share information. Currently, users can log in and post their own materials. Shortly, the site’s operators plan to add documentation and pointers to various resources for SSCLI information.

Also, Microsoft has recently launched a Developer Community specifically for Smart Device developers (http://smartdevices.microsoftdev.com). The numerous technical articles available include content from the .NET Developer Journal's own Jon Box and Dan Fox. Their article "An Introduction to P/Invoke and Marshaling on the Microsoft .NET Compact Framework" is sure to be of interest to any device-based developers who have ever had to access native code from their managed applications.
