(April 22, 2003) - On April 22, Borland Software Corporation announced the immediate availability of new .NET functionality for two of their products. In particular:
Borland Design - now allows modelling using the .NET Framework classes. Once your design is finished, this tool can also automatically generate C# code from your models.
Optimizeit - supports performance tuning of managed code. This can also now be integrated directly into the Visual Studio .NET IDE.
In addition, Borland has announced the name of their new developer IDE for C# developers - C#Builder. This IDE will facilitate the coding of applications written in Microsoft's new C# language for .NET. It will also support direct interoperability with J2EE, CORBA, and a number of Enterprise databases.
This announcement comes just a few months after Borland became the first company to license the .NET Framework from Microsoft.
