(June 20, 2002) - IXIASOFT, a leading provider of XML searching and publishing technology, has just introduced a Java API for TEXTML Server, a Native XML Server designed from the ground up to store, index and retrieve XML documents. The new Java API provides greater platform interoperability and enables developers to use the platform of their choice for their applications. This feature complements the existing COM+ TEXTML Server API. "This release has been requested by many of our partners because it will simplify communication with TEXTML Server for applications developed on heterogeneous platforms " commented Marc Cyrenne, IXIASOFT product director. "This now makes TEXTML Server the ideal tool for both .Net and J2EE applications and we expect to see more and more Web services based on TEXTML Server in the near future" TEXTML Server is an XML Content Server whose purpose is to store, index, and retrieve XML content. It is the first embeddable XML Server for OEMs and developers of XML applications such as electronic manuals, content management systems, wireless content publishing, enterprise portals, or patient record systems. The TEXTML Server is used by the United States Air Force for its AWACS and F-16 programs, to retrieve, index and store millions of documents for its mission critical operations.
