Agilent Technologies and Anite Telecoms to Develop Test Solutions to Speed Wireless Device Development
Jan. 1, 2000 12:00 AM
(June 3, 2003) - Agilent Technologies Inc. and Anite Telecoms have agreed to jointly develop and promote RF protocol and network emulation test solutions to wireless device manufacturers and network operators worldwide. The combined Agilent and Anite solutions are expected to reduce wireless device development time and overall design costs. Today's wireless devices combine voice and data to provide an increasing number of communication, entertainment, and productivity functions. To ensure that wireless device software and hardware work together with other communication devices on the wireless network, the designers must rigorously test and verify their new product designs and protocol implementations. The two companies' first proposed test solutions would combine the Agilent 8960 hardware with Anite's conformance and interoperability test systems, and are expected to provide manufacturers with a common test platform that offers increased consistency of test results from early-design RF and protocol testing to full conformance and interoperability verification. The platform is expected to provide equipment manufacturers, type approval labs, and network operators with a test solution that can reduce product development time and design costs. In addition to the planned product development, Agilent has agreed to fulfill existing product service agreements and provide ongoing customer support for Anite's 2G (wireless test and measurement platforms.
